Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Chocolate Avocado Mousse

This Chocolate Avocado Mousse is completely vegan, refined-sugar free, easy to make, and delicious! I’m so excited to share it with you! All you have to do is blend the ingredients together, chill for three hours, and serve! Could it get much easier? This Chocolate Avocado Mousse would make a great alternative to regular pudding. You don’t even notice the avocado!

Recipe adapted from Two Peas & Their Pod

Start to finish: 3 hrs 10 minutes

How Many: 4 servings

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 2 ripe avocados peeled and pitted

  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (less for a dark chocolate version)

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • Raspberries or other berries for garnish

What you’ll do:

  1. Put the almond milk, avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt into your blender and puree on high for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula.

  2. Transfer the mousse to glasses, ramekins, or jars and chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours. To serve, top each pudding with fresh raspberries or other berries you have on hand.

Notes:

  • It’s best to eat the pudding the day it’s made because the avocados will oxidize and change flavor over time.

  • Remove any brown spots on the avocados before you start.
